3 Tips On Saving A Marriage
Did you know that nearly half of all marriages end in divorce? If your marriage day was your happiest and you want a return to those times you really want to know the best ways of saving a marriage. So to avoid a rush to the divorce courts are there any urgent tips to save a marriage?
Here are 3 to get you thinking.
1 Break the pattern.
Ever associate feelings with smells or sounds? You know the feel good factor of new mown grass, or the smell of coffee does it for me and you will have similar experiences. What about the bad feelings? We unconsciously connect feelings to sights sounds and smells. When we first get together, we don’t link anything to the other person but as things progress, we begin to associate good and bad feelings with the sight sounds and smell of the other person.
When things are fine, these associations can keep us attracted through the good and the bad but when a marriage starts to fail, bad associations overtake the good and we begin to link bad feelings to the physical and mental features of our partner, and whilst there might still be some good, overall the balance has tipped to negative. You need to BREAK THIS PATTERN.

There are loads of ways of looking smelling and sounding different and one of the first steps in saving a marriage has to be doing things differently. If you keep doing the same things, you get the same result, right? Make changes and start on fresh ground.
2. Take a Break
If done correctly, taking a break can help in saving a marriage. I know it sounds dramatic but having space to think can be helpful to you both. You don’t have to say that you are moving out or that your partner should move out, you can make an excuse to get away for a while.
When you are intent on saving a marriage, it pays to have a strategy and sometimes being out of it can help quell any panicky feelings you might be having and to start working on a plan. You must have heard the saying “absence makes the heart grow fonder” Well it can. Absence allows us to appreciate the good things and missing something or someone can lead us to appreciate how valuable it is.
Contact them occasionally and if it feels right tell them you love them. This can lead both of you to realise the things you have started to take for granted and you will start to miss each other.

3. Kill the Negatives
What are the destructive elements in your marriage? Fights will happen but don’t let anger destroy your marriage. You need to find out what is eating away at you both. Before jumping in and saying things you might not mean in the heat of the moment, try and settle your anger. Try not to talk for a while to allow the heat to subside but don’t sulk. You both need to work on what is becoming a negative, remember why you first fell in love and work on recapturing those feelings and emotions.
To have any chance of saving a marriage that is falling down a well, you have to stand back from it, take help and look at what others have found to make dramatic improvements. These few tips here are just the start.
